What It Is
Let's face it. When it comes to figuring out where your friends are when you're supposed to be going out, there's no good solution. You could ask where they, but you would only get a canned reply of "Almost There" or "Be there in 5 minutes." But with Coordinator, that changes.
Coordinator allows you to view others' locations in real-time, along with live arrival-time calculations thanks to Google. You never need to guess where anyone is anymore - just open the page and see them on a map.
The idea of an app, or in this case a website, tracking your location sounds pretty scary, and a little creepy. However, multiple measures have been taken to ensure complete safety and privacy for all users.
First, the green lock next to the url of the page tells you that Coordinator uses the HTTPS protocol, which means all data transferred is encrypted and protected from hackers.
Second, the website can only track your location when the page is open. As soon as you leave the page, whether that means switching to another window or clicking the home button, Coordinator no longer has access to your location and will not transmit this data.
Finally, all URLs are protected with an event code unknown to the public. This means that you will always be able to see all other users who can see you.
